BULLETIN 8 – PARTIAL PROVISIONAL RESULTS

Partial Provisional Results for Days 1 to 4 were posted at 18:00 hrs today.

Any protest relating to the due and proper compilation, assessment or publication of these results, must be lodged within one hour of their placement on the Official Notice Board.

If there are no protests, or once protests are resolved, these become Offical Final Results and no further protest can be lodged against them.

Regularity Advice to Competitors 6

Day 5 Section R19 RAZORBACK has been cancelled

The Turon River is rising and has made the causeway on R19 RAZORBACK impassable for COT22 competitors. The section has been cancelled for both Rally competitions and the Regularity competition.
Impacts on our day:

  1. Regularity Day 5 will start later with the first car leaving Orange at 09:45 hrs.
  2. Transport T23, commencing at the end of Icely Road, has been altered to stop at Sofala for lunch.
  3. More time is allowed for the lunch break in Sofala.
  4. Sections R19 and T24a have been cancelled.
  5. Transport T24b, from Sofala to Box Ridge will run as planned, with the first Regularity car due to leave Sofala at 12:47 hrs.

A paper copy of the attached docs will be provided at the start of Day 5.

Test R9.3 on R9, Back Yamma Rd

In Regularity Advice to Competitors 2, Test 9.3 was incorrectly called a Constant Average Speed test when it should have been an Overall Average Speed test. There was not a waypoint in place in line with Supplementary Regulations para 606.3 [4], so Organisers could not time the test properly.

Test 9.3 has been neutralised.

Tests R10.1 and R10.2 on R10, Amaroo Way

In the running of R10, the Rally Recovery vehicles started just before the Regularity field. In carrying out their duties these vehicles stopped a number of times and continued on Amaroo Way, creating dusty conditions that adversely affected a significant number of Regularity competitors.

The Organiser’s view is that conditions on these two tests were not consistent for Regularity Competitors and we have neutralised both tests R10.1 and R10.2.

Day 3: An almost perfect day for the whole field!

With only two “Did Not Finishes” on the third day of the 2022 Classic Outback Trial, crews are coming to grips with the change in terrain from the dusty outback forests of Far-Western New South Wales to the hilly and more traditional rally country towards the east, near Orange.

Today’s two DNFs were the Triumph Stag V8 of Tony Jordan and Richard Davidson and the Holden Commodore VL of previous Classic Outback Trial winner, Matt Swan and Paul Franklin.
