Club Rally cars are now eligible for COT18

In the COT January 2018 Newsletter it was advised that the 2018 National Rally Code issued by CAMS listed Club Rally Cars as being ineligible for National Events.

After numerous competitors indicated they are planning to enter a Club Rally Car a proposal was presented to the Australian Rally Commission (ARCOM) at its January 2018 meeting seeking exemptions for COT, this being a National Other event.

After giving due consideration to the presentation the Commission agreed to allow these cars to be entered in the COT. The ineligibility ruling was intended for Championship events. Continue reading

Modern rally cars eligible for Classic Outback Trial in Alice Springs

Following a successful competition debut in 2016, the 2018 Classic Outback Trial will once again welcome competitors with modern rally cars to experience the challenge of the week-long endurance event from August 18-25.

Initially born as a long-distance rally for classic cars, in recent years there has been a growing interest from competitors with modern competition vehicles to take on Australia’s Red Centre epic event. Continue reading

COT18 Pre-Regulations now available

COT18 Pre-Regulations, which will provide intending competitors with the essential details they require to prepare themselves for the Classic Outback Trial 2018.

Pre-Regulations contain information on the governance of the event, entries and Technical Regulations (ie: vehicle eligibility and decals on vehicles). The Supplementary Regulations, to be issued early April 2018, will contain the Sporting Regulations.
