Introducing the COT18 Media Team

With preparations for COT18 slotting into top gear, it’s time we let you know about our star-studded Media Team line up and who to look out for or perhaps run away from (please don’t. We don’t bite, except for maybe Alan).

Last time out, young photojournalist Craig O’Brien joined us, writing the daily news releases and this time around will lead the team as Media Manager. He’ll once again be roaming around service parks and start and finish points with our much-loved roving reporter Alan Baker. The pair of them will be working together to get the low down on what’s happening in your COT and will be busy producing daily news releases, reports and book content. Plus, they’ll be hunting for victims to throw a microphone at for Alan’s informative and often comical video clips that we all enjoy.

We’ve got a change in photographers this year, but there will be no change to the high standard of quality images that you’ve been accustomed to in the past. First, we have the very experienced Ian Smith, back for another COT to capture more stunning images of the cars and stars that make this such as wonderful event. His partner in crime this time around is South Australian, Phil Williams. Phil is an exceptionally experienced photographer and a real character. He’s covered everything from Formula 1 to the Australian Rally Championship, Off Road Championships, Finke and V8 Supercars.

Our COT Creative Director, Antony Bernadou, will return to Alice Springs for 2018. As the man behind the sensational production of the COT16 Commemorative Book, he’ll be working hard putting the 2018 edition together at the end of each day as he looks ahead to have the book signed off, printed and delivered before Christmas this year.

A Media Team though isn’t complete without you. In this digital age we need you to hashtag your social media images and posts with #COT18, so we can keep right abreast of everything that’s happening and sharing your posts with the rest of the COT community. We’ll be active on Facebook and Instagram pre and post event as well as during the event.
