Classic Outback Trial 2018 4WD and SUV Tour announced

The Australian Outback has one of the most fascinating and unique landscapes anywhere in the world. Made world famous by iconic sights such as Uluru and Kings Canyon, the Northern Territory has so much more to be seen and explored. For 2018 we are incorporating a tour event designed for 4WD and SUV vehicles as part of the 2018 Classic Outback Trial.

Without needing a roll cage or helmets, the tour will take place over 5.5 days beginning on August 20, 2018 along selected special stages of the COT, taking in the breathtaking scenery on private properties that could not otherwise be experienced. There will be three overnight stops with dinner at Gemtree Caravan Park, the magnificent Hale River Homestead at Old Ambalindum and Ross River Resort.

Cruising at a leisurely pace, the tour will be limited to a maximum speed of 80kph and headed by a lead tour guide with a paramedic in the tail car. All vehicles will be fitted with a RallySafe unit for the duration of the tour.

At a cost of $3,900 per vehicle with two occupants on board, the COT Tour package includes Confederation of Australian Motorsports (CAMS) insurance, entry to the event welcome function, road books for navigation, three nights accommodation including dinner, two tickets to the event presentation function and a commemorative coffee table book of the event per car. Extra crew members can participate at $300 per person.
