Graeme Muldrew, from Kalgoorlie WA, will be bringing out his Pajero in Classic Outback Cross Country. Let’s meet Graeme and hear what’s in store…
What car will you be running in the 2016 COT?
It’s a 2005 Mitsubishi MP Pajero. The car was built in 2010 and has done a few Australasian Safaris… 2010 (7th OR), 2011 (6th OR), 2012 (14th – as I dislocated shoulder helping competitor change tyre). We also did the Broken Hill Silver City 600 in 2011 (10th OR).
Who will be in your team?
My co-driver is Keith Earle. We’ve competed together in the Australasian Safari in 2010, 2011, 2012 and the Broken Hill Silver City 600 in 2011,
What has attracted you to the event?
The challenge of central Australian terrain and quality of competitors.
What are you looking forward to in COT16?
Meeting other enthusiasts; good motor racing and hopefully finishing the event.
Have you been to Alice Springs before?
Not as a competitor but I’ve been there on work related visits. It has an interesting and challenging terrain…
What is/was your favourite rally car?
RS Escort (Graeme), Datsun 1600 (Keith)
What is your most memorable rallying moment?
Finishing 7th overall in my first Australian Safari in 2010 – cloud nine wasn’t high enough!
What will you be doing to get ready for COT16?
I’ll refresh the car and hopefully get in some practice.
Where are you and what are you doing as you answer these questions?
I’m in the Muldrew Heavy Haulage workshop, trying to get the trucks out the workshop so I can put more time into the car!
Thanks Graeme! Look forward to meeting you, Keith and the team in Alice Springs.
