Five more nominations for COT16 received in December…

Five nominations in Dcember...
As 2015 wound down in December people were obviously thinking about their 2016 motorsport programs – we’ve had 5 more nominations for COT 16! We’re really pleased to welcome…

Adam Kaplan has nominated in an RX7 for COT16 Adam Kaplan

Adam, from Sydney, is a Targa Tasmania regular and has competed there in a VL Walkinshaw and a BMW M3. In the 2015 Classic Adelaide, Adam and COT co-driver Mary Hughes won Classic Adelaide in an RX7. Adam and Mary will also take on COT16 in an RX7, but not the tarmac car from Classic Adelaide.

David and Kate Officer, Farmcote in COT14David Officer

David and Kate Officer hail from Melbourne, but they’ve spent plenty of time rallying around Alice Springs – including a number of Australian Safaris and the 2008 Red Centre to Gold Coast, which they won! Dinta and Kate are COT regulars and will run their very reliable Galant in COT16.

Reg and Russell competing in a NissanReg Owen

Reg, from Warrnambool Vic, is a long time off-road competitor – he’s competed 19 Australian Safaris and won the event in 1992! Reg had become the oldest Safari competitor and still regularly competes in the ARB off road series and the Condo 750. Despite Reg’s long history of driving Nissans, Reg and co-driver Russell Cairns will be running a 2014 Isuzu MU-X diesel in COT16.

Gerald Schofield, Isuzu D-MAXGerald Schofield

Gerald, from Springfield NSW, may be the busiest man in motorsport – he competes in regularly both Off Road and Rally events, including both classic rallies and tackling ARC events and Rally Australia in a Lancer Evo IX. Gerald has nominated his Isuzu D-MAX for COT 16 and will be competing in Cross Country.

Michael Verge's car for COT16. Michael Verge

Michael, from Victoria, has done a number of events with Michael Arundel as his co-driver – most recently on the State Bank Discovery Trial ReRun. Rallying in the outback must have appealed to Michael – he’s decided to swap seats and drive in COT16. Michael is running a VB Commodore.

Thank you for your nominations and a big COT welcome to Adam, Mary, Dinta, Kate, Reg, Russell, Gerald, Michael and their teams. We’re looking forward to welcoming you in person in Alice Springs.

That takes us to 57 nominations for the event. And, we’ve all got just over 5 months to go…
