The Classic Outback Trial will be exhibiting at the Race Retro International Historic Motorsport Show this weekend, held at Stoneleigh Park near Coventry, in England.

Race Retro is Europe’s premier international show for historic motorsport and there is always a strong classic rallying component. This year includes Ari Vatanen and Jimmy McRae as special guests, a live rally stage with Group B cars, a Bjorn Waldegard tribute and much more. They expect more than 28,000 historic motorsport enthusiasts to visit the show this weekend!

The Classic Outback Trial will be represented by Event Director, Philip Bernadou, COT regular Ian Swan and 2014 COT competitor, Warren Briggs.
Warren was so pleased with his experience in the 2014 Classic Outback Trail he convinced Philip to exhibit at Race Retro. Warren is convinced that there are other UK and Europe based crews who will jump at the chance for classic special stage rallying in Australia’s Red Centre around Alice Springs. So are we…

Warren has been a great support and has provided us lots of assistance to get the COT to Race Retro. He’s also bringing his gorgeous red 1965 Ford Mustang, complete with COT stickers, to be on the stand.

We will also have a fabulous Tuthill Porsche rally car on the COT stand. We met Francis Tuthill at the 2014 Sydney to London Classic Marathon, when the COT team provided the first four days of that event in outback NSW.

Philip, Ian and Warren are well armed with information about the 2016 Classic Outback Trial and are looking forward to spruiking the virtues of our brand of outback classic special stage rallying. We’re thinking that rallying in the sun around Alice Springs and the fabulous Red Centre will be very appealing to Race retro visitors in England’s winter weather!

We’ll post some pics of the stand and give you an update as soon as we can. If you are visiting the show, please call in and say g’day to Philip, Ian and Warren – they’d love to see you.
