50 years on…

The weekend of 17 & 18 May 2014 will be 50 years since Classic Outback Trial Clerk of Course, Tom Snooks, competed in his first rally in Western Australia. He went on to win the WA Navigators Championship in 1967 and was involved with local events until he moved “East” in 1970.

Since 1972 he has been involved full time with such events as the Dulux Rally (71-72), Southern Cross Rally (73-77). Total Oil Economy Run (76-80), Round Australia Trials (79, 95, 98), Wynns/Australian Safari (85-92, 99-02), Grand Prix Rally (00-02), Targa Tasmania (93-03), Classic Adelaide (02-05), Red Centre to Gold Coast (08) and, of course, the Classic Outback Trial (09-14).

In between these have been a multitude of other events and a close relationship with CAMS.

This is how he looked in 1972:

He wont let us put up a current pic!

Congratulations on such a long and illustrious motorsport career Tom.
